How to Add a Google Search Bar to Your Webpage thumbnail
Adding a Google search bar to your Web page can make your website look more legitimate.

Placing a Google search bar onto your Web page can make your website appear more professional to clients or buyers. Luckily, Google has made it easy to place the search bar on your website, as long as you have the ability to edit your Web pages. As long as you are comfortable dealing with HTML, and have about 20 minutes to work with your website, you can add your very own search tool to your site.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to Google Custom Search (see "Resources").

    • 2

Click the upper right-hand corner button saying "Create a Custom Search Engine."

    • 3

Fill out the required information Google asks you for. At the end of this survey, you will receive an HTML code that you need to copy and paste into your website.

    • 4

Go to your website's creation page. This will be the company that you created the website with. Popular website creation companies include GoDaddy, Homestead, Blogger and Weebly.

    • 5

Copy and paste your personal HTML code into your website editing page. Your website will now have its very own Google search bar.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are unsure how to deal with HTML code, contact your website developer and have their technicians insert the code for you.
