Stop msn from automatically launching.

Windows Live Messenger is a very useful and widely used application, but if too many applications automatically start when you turn on your computer, a lot of CPU memory will be in use which could cause your computer to slow down. To address this issue, you need to access and alter the start-up settings in your messenger.

Instructions

    • 1

Run Windows Live Messenger, enter your email address and password, then click "Sign In."

    • 2

Click on the menu icon. This is the icon furthest to the right, the logo is a small light blue box with an arrow.

    • 3

Click on "Tools" and select "Options." This will open the options box.

    • 4

Click on the "Sign In" tab along the side and uncheck the "Automatically Run Windows Live Messenger When I Log on to Windows" box.

    • 5

Press "Ok" to save these settings and your MSN will no longer pop up automatically.
