How to Make Towel Cake Favors
One way brides try to be inventive and save money is by combining elements of a wedding such as the favors to double as decorations. One such favor is a towel folded to look like a slice of cake or a miniature cake. Make several of these and arrange them on a platter like a full cake and you have an instant centerpiece with something for each guest to take home. Towel cake favors are inexpensive to make and can be customized to fit your celebration.

Trace the template onto a piece of poster board. Cut out and fold along the lines. Make as many poster board patterns as you need for your cake.

3
Lay out a washcloth in the color of your choice on a flat surface. Place the poster board on top. Wrap the washcloth around the edges of poster board. Pull tight and smooth to ensure the washcloth is flat. Secure the ends near the center of the poster board with safety pins. Place the washcloth slice on a plate.

Wrap a striped ribbon around the outside of the slice to make the cake look like it has a filling. Secure the ends with double-sided tape or hot glue. Hot glue will have to be peeled off the washcloth and may burn the washcloth so double-sided tape is preferable.

5
Glue or tape a piece of fake fruit such as a strawberry to the top of the slice. Or you can use silk flowers as a topper instead. Arrange the slices in a circular manner on a cake platter.
