How to Add My Domain to Google

You have built a website and now you want it to appear in Google’s search engine. The quickest way to add your domain to Google is to let the company know you are ready for a site crawl. Google welcomes new URL submissions. Once you complete the process of notifying Google, your website may appear in its search engine faster than if you waited for Google to find you.

Instructions

1. Navigate to the “Add your URL to Google” page. The link to this page is in Resources.

2. Enter the full URL of your homepage into the short form’s “URL” field. A complete URL contains the "http://" prefix.

3. Add keywords that describe your website in the “Comments” field. Use commas to separate your list of keywords.

4. Enter the text you see under the “Options” field to verify that you are not a software robot.

5. Click “Add URL” to finish adding your domain name to Google’s index.

Tips & Warnings

• Google does not guarantee when and if the URLs you submit will be visible through its search engine.

• Don't bother notifying Google about a new URL to correct an outdated link. The Google index is updated regularly.
