How to Set Up Apple Mail With Gmail
If you use Gmail as your default email account, or wish to add your Gmail account to a new mail application, you can do so with the Apple Mail application. As a default application on Macintosh computers, Apple Mail allows you to add multiple POP or IMAP email accounts to the application as well as send and receive mail from each account. The Apple Mail application contacts a mail setup assistant tool, which simplifies adding an email account through automatic account setup, according to Edward C. Baig, author of "Macs For Dummies."
