How to Download the MSN Toolbar

The MSN Toolbar is a free browser add-on from Microsoft that allows you to search the Web instantly from you browser window and perform other common tasks, such as checking email, weather and stocks. If you have recently reinstalled Windows or purchased a new computer, you might have noticed that the MSN Toolbar is no longer available. This is because Microsoft has rebranded the toolbar to capitalize on their new search engine, Bing. Install the Bing Toolbar to take advantage of the features that you enjoyed in the MSN Toolbar.

Instructions

1. Open a Web browser and navigate to Microsoft's website for the Bing Toolbar using the link in the Resources section. Click the orange "Get Bing Now" button. When prompted for a download location, select the desktop.

2. Double-click the "InstallManager_Bing_Microsoft" file on the desktop.

3. Click the drop-down menu under "Choose Your Locale" to select your preferred language.

4. Add or remove checks from the boxes to indicate whether you would like to keep the Bing Toolbar updated automatically, configure Bing as the default search engine in your Web browser, change your browser home page to MSN and have the Bing Toolbar collect anonymous usage statistics and send them to Microsoft. Click the blue "Install" button after making your selections.

5. Click the blue "Close This Window" button when the Bing Toolbar is finished installing, and launch Internet Explorer or Firefox to begin using the Bing Toolbar.
