      Log on to your computer and click the "Start" button. Choose "Control Panel" from the menu.

      Double-click the "Administrative Tools" icon, and then the "Services" icon. Click the "Classic View" option if the "Administrative Tools" option is not visible. This applies to Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

      Locate the "Print Spooler" service and right-click on it. Choose "Stop" to stop the print spooler service.
