Instructions

    • 1

Remove the grout around the damaged roof tile, using a chisel. Pull out the damaged tile with your hands, if the tile is loose. If the tile is set in adhesive, break up the tile with a cold chisel, then use a screwdriver to pull up the broken pieces.

    • 2

Remove any debris from the area with a wire brush. Use a scraper to smooth out lumps in the adhesive and mortar.

    • 3

Place the replacement tile in the space where the damaged tile was to ensure a proper fit. The replacement tile should sit at the same level as the surrounding roof tiles.

    • 4

Remove the replacement tile. Use a putty knife to apply a 1/8-inch layer of roof tile adhesive over the back of the replacement tile.

    • 5

Place the replacement tile on the roof in place of the damaged tile. Gently press down on the replacement tile to thoroughly spread out the adhesive and create a strong bond. Allow the adhesive to dry for 24 hours, or according to the manufacturer's directions.

    • 6

Mix new grout, according to the manufacturer's directions. Use a trowel to apply the grout into any gaps around the new tile. Allow the grout to dry, according to the manufacturer's directions.

Tips & Warnings
