Always use a level when installing any window treatment. Measure the width of the shade header and mark this measurement 1 inch above the top of the window on the French door. Use the level to mark this line above the window so that the shade will hang properly. Be sure the line is centered above the window.

Pilot holes should be smaller than the screw that will be used. Mark the placement of each bracket at each end of the marked line on the door; use the brackets for an outside mount from the installation kit. Drill pilot holes for each bracket.

3
Mount each bracket to the door using a screwdriver and the screws from the installation packet.
-
4
Place the shade header inside the installed brackets and close the covers to secure the shade. Lower the shade completely to cover the glass on the French door.
-
5
Attach the wall cleat from the installation packet to the door near the bottom corner of the glass. Attach the wall cleat to the same side as the string on the blinds. Secure the string to the wall cleat to limit the movement of the shade when the door is opened and closed.
