How to Add My Domain Name to the Dogpile Search Engine
The Dogpile search engine is what is known as a “meta search engine.” The search results generated by meta search engines come from other search engines. Typically, with a basic search engine, such as Google, a webmaster submits her website's domain name to the search engine, then the search engine sends its “spiders” to crawl the site’s pages for information about the website’s content. With a meta search engine like Dogpile, however, the only way to add your domain name to Dogpile’s search results is to submit your site to the basic search engines that Dogpile draws its results from.

Type your website’s complete homepage web address (including the prefix protocol) in the box located directly beneath the instruction to “Type the URL of your homepage.” Complete the word challenge. Build up links to your website. Dogpile search results are also drawn from the Ask search engine. Ask does not have a URL submission page. Ask spiders automatically crawl the web, finding new websites by following links from other websites. Therefore, the more external links you have on other websites pointing to your website, the greater your chances of Ask spiders finding your website and by extension, being included in Dogpile search results.

Go to the Dogpile website. Type “site:” (without the quotes) followed by your website’s domain name. For example, site:example.com. Click “Go Fetch.”
