How to Wire Olin Ross 6050 Surround Sound Systems

By Erick Kristian

The Olin Ross 6050 is a 1000-watt home theater system. It is a 5.1-channel system with two front speakers, two rear, one center channel and one subwoofer. Wiring the speaker system takes less than 10 minutes and requires no advanced knowledge of electronics. The speakers are compatible with any 1000-watt, 5.1-channel surround sound receiver.

Step 1

Arrange the speakers around the room. The front left speaker should be to the left of the TV, while the front right speaker should be to the right. The center speaker should be above or below the TV. The two rear speakers should be to the back of the room on the left and right. The subwoofer can be placed anywhere.

Step 2

Measure the distance from each speaker to the receiver. Cut speaker wire for each speaker.

Step 3

Attach the speaker wire to each speaker. Remember which wire is positive and which wire is negative. Red is usually positive and black is usually negative.

Step 4

Run each wire from the speakers to the receiver.

Step 5

Connect each wire to the appropriate "Speaker Out" terminals on the receiver. For example, connect the right front speaker with the right front terminal. Remember which wire is positive and which is negative.

Step 6

Plug in the receiver and turn it on. Test the system.
