How to Download New Songs for Dance Dance Revolution Universe 3
“Dance Dance Revolution Universe 3” (“DDR Universe 3”) is a rhythm game that was released for the Xbox 360 in 2008. A player dances along to a song by timing his or her steps on a special dance pad controller to the steps shown on the screen. The player is scored on how accurately the steps are timed. Players can download new songs for the game through the Xbox Live Marketplace. Most of the songs must be purchased with Microsoft Points, but two songs are available for free.

Open the Xbox Dashboard menu. This menu appears when you turn on the console. You can reach it while playing “DDR Universe 3,” as well. Press the “Xbox” button on the controller to open the Xbox Guide menu. Press the “Y” button to open a prompt asking if you want to go to the Dashboard menu. Select “Yes” from the prompt to open the Dashboard menu.

Scroll up to the “Game Marketplace” tab on the Xbox Dashboard. The default option under the tab is “Browse.”

Select “Browse” under the Game Marketplace tab. This will open the game section of the Xbox Live Marketplace. This is the area where you can download demos, Games-On-Demand, Xbox Live Arcade games and game add-ons.

Scroll up to the “Game Add-Ons” tab in the Game Marketplace.

Select “Dance Dance Revolution Universe 3” from the game list under “Game Add-Ons.” You can browse the game list alphabetically or by genre. “DDR Universe 3” is listed under the “Music” genre.

Select “All Downloads” from the menu that appears. This will list all of the songs that can be downloaded for the game.

Select the new song you want to download to your Xbox 360 console. A menu will appear showing your current Microsoft Point total, the cost of the song and the number of Microsoft Points that would be left if you purchased the song. This screen appears for free songs, as well, and shows no Microsoft Points would be deducted from your account.

Select “Download Now” and confirm you want to download the new song at the prompt that appears.

Wait for the new song to download completely. The song will be available to play the next time you start “DDR Universe 3.”

Tips & Warnings
There are two free songs for “Dance Dance Revolution Universe 3” on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Both of these songs are titled “Present Songs.” “Present Song 01” is “A Dream” by Big Idea. “Present Song 02” is “koibana” by Togo Project (featuring *manna).
You do not need to have an Xbox Live Gold account to download new songs for “DDR Universe 3” from the Xbox Live Marketplace. The free Xbox Live Silver account you create the first time you log onto Xbox Live allows you to download game add-ons. You only need the Xbox Live Gold account to play online multiplayer games.
