How to Install Google Earth on an EEE PC

Since its release, Google Earth has quickly become one of the most popular software programs for armchair explorers. With its high-resolution pictures of virtually every area of the planet--along with outer space--a person could spend months browsing Google Earth without seeing everything that the program has to offer. Google Earth is a free utility, and if you are interested in exploring with it, you can download and install it on your Windows-based ASUS Eee PC.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a Web browser and visit the download page for Google Earth. Remove the check from the box in the middle of the page if you do not want to download the Google Chrome Web browser, and then click "Agree and Download." When prompted for a location to save the file, select the desktop.

    • 2

Double-click the file "GoogleEarthSetup" on the desktop. The installation software downloads the required program files for Google Earth. When the download is complete, on most Eee PC models, you will receive a prompt because the native resolution of your screen is lower than 1024x768.

    • 3

Place a check in the box labeled "Don't show this message again," and then click "OK." Google Earth begins to load.

    • 4

Click the "Unblock" button if you receive a prompt from the Windows Firewall. When the program finishes loading, it is ready to use.
