Instructions

    • 1

Cut several 1-inch-wide by 18-inch-long strips from two coordinating fabrics using pinking shears. The amount needed will depend on the size of the frame.

    • 2

Remove the backing and glass from a smooth-surface photo frame. Working in 3-inch sections, apply a decoupage medium to the front and back of the frame, and the inset for the glass using a sponge brush.

    • 3

Place the end of one fabric strip in the wet medium on the back of the frame. Wrap the strip around the frame, overlapping half of each previous wrap. Continue to wrap and add more decoupage medium to the frame as your work progresses.

    • 4

Wrap each fabric strip so that it ends on the back of the frame, trimming any excess. Tightly wrap the corners of the frame, adding more decoupage medium and molding the fabric flat with your fingers. Alternate between the two coordinating fabric strips until you cover the entire frame.

    • 5

Lay the frame with the back side up while the decoupage medium is still wet. Reinsert the glass into the frame, pressing the edges into the inset. Add your photo and the backing after the decoupage medium has dried.
