How to Reset the BIOS for an ASUS

BIOS (basic input/output system) is a special code incorporated into computer motherboards. The BIOS program starts when you switch on or reboot a computer to initialize all computer hardware components. The BIOS setup on many ASUS motherboards includes an Extreme Tweaker menu that allows a user to configure the processor speed and tweak memory settings. However, improper BIOS changes might cause your computer to become unstable. Use a special BIOS feature to quickly restore the factory default settings.

Instructions

      Click "Start" in Windows to get to the Start menu; then choose the option "Restart" to reboot your computer.

      Wait until you see a text line "Press DEL to enter SETUP," then immediately press the key "Del" on the keyboard to enter the ASUS BIOS.

      Use the left/right arrow keys on the keyboard to get to the BIOS menu "Exit." Then press "Enter"

    • 4

      Navigate to the option "Load Setup Defaults" and press "Enter:" It will reset the BIOS settings to their default values.

      Press the key "F10" to save changes and exit the BIOS menu.
