Do-it-yourself wedding tips can save you money across the board.

Microsoft Word offers a variety of templates for wedding labels, which can be used for wedding invitations. You decide the layout and format. The text is easy to change, and the entire process requires little time. When you’re done, you can save your labels for future prints. Because Microsoft Word is the default program for your computer, you don’t have to deal with new software. You only need a few tools to get started.

Instructions

    • 1

Start your computer. Open Microsoft Word in one of two ways. Either right-click on the shortcut, which will appear on your desktop or click “Start” and “All Programs.” Find Microsoft Word among the list of available programs.

    • 2

Open a new Microsoft Word document. A toolbar is located at the top of the page. Click “File.” Scroll down and click “New.” Wait until a new window with the heading “New Document” opens.

    • 3

Browse the list of Microsoft templates. Click “Label.” Click “Other Labels.”

    • 4

Select “Wedding Labels,” which is further down on the alphabetical list. Wait several seconds for the template to appear.

    • 5

Insert text into the text box(es), which already will have generic text inside. Using your mouse pointer, highlight the text. Click “Delete.” Enter your name and address if you are printing return address labels and the invitees’ address if you are printing address labels.

    • 6

Create a new label for each invitee. Fill a complete page of labels before printing.

    • 7

Click “Save As” and select a file name that is easily recognizable, such as “Wedding Invitation Labels.”

    • 8

Feed blank label pages into the printer. Look for arrows or markers along the pages, which will indicate which way to insert the pages for printing. Follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding how to properly load your printer.

    • 9

Click “Print.” Enter the number of copies by entering a number in the “Number of Copies” box.
