How to Humanely Rid Your House of Mice
Non-toxic options for getting rid of mice include the traditional mouse trap that snaps the neck of the mouse, and sticky glue traps which capture the mouse as it runs across the trap, but both methods can lead to a slow, painful death. A more humane method will get rid of the mice without undue suffering or introducing poisons to your home. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Place baited live traps around the home; they can be purchased from a local pest control company or hardware store. These traps open from one end, and have a small panel that, when walked over by the mouse, closes the open end of the trap, thereby trapping the mouse inside without harming it.
-
2
Take the trap outdoors or down the street, and release the mouse.
-
-
3
Repel the mice by sprinkling crushed peppermint around the home. This works well on both the interior and exterior of the home.
-
4
Fill a spray bottle with 2 cups water, 1 tsp. dish soap and either 2 tbsp. Tabasco sauce, cayenne pepper or peppermint oil. Shake the bottle and spray the mixture around the home, around doorways and other areas that are experiencing problems with mice.
-
5
Sprinkle cayenne pepper around the home as well, which also works as a natural repellent.
