How to Troubleshoot a Clogged Steam Valve in Krups Espresso Maker
A clogged steam valve can be more than inconvenient, as it will not allow your Krups espresso machine to steam milk properly or sometimes at all. Without steamed milk, beverages such as lattes and cappuccinos are not possible. Unclogging your espresso machine will allow you to use it to its full potential and enjoy a full range of coffee based beverages. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Add water to the espresso machine and fill the tank. If your machine allows it, disassemble the steaming wand and clean these parts separately. Often, uncleaned steaming wands contain buildups of dry milk in them that can cause sub-par performance.
-
2
Turn the espresso machine on. Allow it to run for several minutes. Allowing your machine to warm up for several minutes will allow steam pressure to build up and push through a mineral deposit.

3
Purchase commercial espresso machine descaler. Descaler dissolves mineral deposits without damaging your espresso machine. Fill the water tank of your espresso machine and add the descaler to the tank, according to the instructions for your brand of descaler. Allow the machine to heat up and open the heating wand. You should receive hot steam within 30 seconds.
