Instructions

    • 1

Empty your chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and microwave for about 45 seconds and stir. If the chips are not completely melted after 45 seconds, reheat them at 30 second increments until they are completely melted.

    • 2

Stir rice krispies cereal or crushed nuts into your chocolate mixture right after it has melted if you plan to make a crunchy chocolate bunny. If you plan to mix chocolate--such as white and dark--melt the dark chocolate first, then sprinkle the white chips in the bowl and heat for 30 seconds. Do not stir completely once it is melted. Lightly swirl the white chocolate with the tip of your spoon into the darker chocolate.

    • 3

Pour your chocolate mixture into your bunny mold over a large bowl to catch any chocolate that spills or overflows. Bunny molds come in various shapes and sizes to make hollow or solid bunnies. All types come in halves to easily extract the bunny when solid. The chocolate should be poured into the mold while both halves are in place.

    • 4

Place the bunny into the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes or until the bunny has become solid. Remove the mold very carefully from the chocolate bunny. Use a cake decorating tube with royal icing or candy to decorate the face and ears of your bunny.

    • 5

Cover your bunny in colored cellophane plastic wrap and secure the top with a ribbon. Place in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve or fill an Easter basket.
