How to Put a Visor on a Lacrosse Helmet

Lacrosse helmets serve to protect players from heavy lacrosse balls as they fly around the field. The helmets feature a heavy duty cage to protect the player’s face, but can include a small visor that sits on the brow of the helmet to shield the sun. Rather small and unassuming, the visors come in a variety of colors that can be swapped out to match team colors.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold your helmet facing you so that you’re looking at the cage. Locate the two screws on the left and right sides of the visor. Turn the helmet over so that you’re looking into the shell to locate the attachment points for the two screws.

    • 2

Unscrew each holding screw. You may have to slightly pull the foam padding away to reveal their location in some helmets. Set the screws aside. Unscrew the center holding screw that attaches the top of the cage to the visor and set aside.

    • 3

Slide the cage down or, depending on your model, pull it away from the helmet to gain access to the visor. Gently pull on the visor to remove it from the helmet. Place the new visor on the helmet and line up the screw holes.

Screw the new visor into place, leaving the final center screw until the end so you can adjust the cage to your liking.
