How to Link a PC to Internet Via an iPhone

Use your iPhone to tether your Internet access.

iPhones have many excellent and useful features. One of these features is tethering, the ability to connect your computer to the Internet through your iPhone using only the connector cable. If you do not mind incurring some potential extra charges from your service carrier, then tethering is an interesting way to gain Internet access.

Things You'll Need

• Connector cable
• 3G wireless connection

Instructions

1. Turn on your iPhone and your PC. Make sure that your iPhone has proper reception and is connected to the 3G network.

2. Connect your iPhone to your PC using the connector cable and wait for the phone to finish the syncing process.

3. Go to "settings," "general" and "network" on your iPhone.

4. Click "Internet Tethering," which defaults in the "off" position. Turn tethering "on."

5. Press the windows button on your desktop and then select "connect to" on your PC.

6. Double-click the "iPhone" option in the network panel to connect to the Internet through your iPhone.

Tips & Warnings

• The more reception you have, the better the Internet quality will be.

• You can also connect to the Internet using the same steps via Bluetooth if it is enabled on both your iPhone and PC.

• Your cell phone provider may charge you extra for tethering, check with them to see what their rates are.
