How to Plug the USB Cord Into the Computer for Pics
Most modern cell phones and digital cameras come with USB cords that make it easy for you to transfer pictures to your computer. However, plugging the cord in and getting started with the transfer may not be obvious if you aren't tech savvy or haven't performed the procedure before. Connecting your device to a computer via a USB cord is actually a straightforward task.

1
Find the USB port on your computer. Often this port is found on the front or rear part of the tower. If you are not sure what the USB port looks like, try matching the plug with the port--it should be a perfect fit. On laptop computers, you'll generally find the USB port on the side or the back.

Turn your device off. Plug the end of the USB cord that attaches to the device into the device. For most cameras and phones, this side of the cord is much smaller than the USB port end that plugs into the computer.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't see a pop-up window, click "My Computer" or "Computer" and click on the "Removable" drive. This is the USB drive.
When you are finished, do not directly disconnect the USB cord. Instead, click the green icon in the system tray on the bottom right of the screen. Select "Safely Remove." If you are using a Mac, drag the USB icon that appeared on your desktop into the trash bin.
