How to Beat Orks With Space Marines
“Dawn of War 2” is a real time strategy game set in the Warhammer 40K universe. The player controls four squads of Space Marines in each mission. One of the main enemies in the game are the Orks. The individual units are fairly tough to kill and can do a decent amount of damage. Proper squad selection, strategy and the use of cover is important since the Orks typically have superior numbers.

1
Click on the portraits of the Force Commander, Tarkus, Avitus, and Cyrus in the Squad Deployment screen to select them as your squad leaders.
-
2
Click on Cyrus, then the Infiltration skill in his tool bar. This will make his squad invisible. Click on the map and move Cyrus around it until you find Orks.
-
-
3
Walk around the area until you find a green dot that indicates heavy cover. Pay attention to any other cover nearby, including light cover indicated by a yellow dot.
-
4
Click behind the area of heavy cover with the right mouse button to order Cyrus away from the Ork forces. He should be just close enough to hit the area in front of the heavy cover.
-
5
Click on Avitus to select him. Click on the area of heavy cover. Avitus and his squad will automatically use the cover to protect themselves upon moving to that location. Select Tarkus and his squad and move them into any nearby cover near or slightly in front of the heavy cover.
-
6
Move the Force Commander into any cover near Avitus.
-
7
Click on Avitus to reselect him. Move the cursor over the Orks. The cursor icon will turn into a targeting reticle.
-
8
Right click on the Orks to have Avitus and his squad start firing.
-
9
Order Cyrus to open fire on the Orks. The steps are the same as used for Avitus.
-
10
Click on the Frag Grenade ability while Tarkus is selected. Left click on the area of cover the Orks are using to throw a grenade into it. The Orks will now be taking full damage from attacks. Some of the Orks will either start to charge Avitus or Tarkus.
-
11
Click on the Taunt ability in the tool bar if the Orks are charging Avitus. This will cause the Orks to attack Tarkus instead.
-
12
Order the Force Commander to attack the Orks in melee combat once they are closing in on Tarkus. Use the same steps used to order the other squads to attack. The Force Commander automatically attacks with melee combat.

Tips & Warnings
Thaddeus and Dreadnought can be used to beat Orks, but are less useful. The Force Commander replaces Thaddeus in this situation. The Dreadnought can accidentally destroy cover you would want to use.
Do not walk too close to the Orks with Cyrus. The Infiltration skill will stop working if you do.
