How to Word Evening Wedding Invitations

Evening boasts a beautiful ambiance for holding a wedding. When you are sending out your invitations, you will want to tell guests that your wedding will take place in the evening and give them a clue as to whether it will be a formal or informal event. The Knot states that you can classify 5:30 p.m. as afternoon or evening on the invitations. If your wedding will be more formal, it would be acceptable to say evening; however, 6:00 p.m. is the standard start time for the invitations to use the word "evening."
