DIY Cheap Wedding Invitations
According to "Bridal Bargains" by Denise and Alan Fields, in 2009, couples spent an average of $300 on their wedding invitations. For brides and grooms on a budget, this figure is not always possible. Creating your own wedding invitations is very easy to do and can be done inexpensively using basic scrapbook supplies and a computer.
Things You'll Need

1
Fold the card stock paper into quarters, and run your finger along the folded seams for a crisp edge. Use the precision knife to cut the four sections apart. This will create four wedding invitation bodies.
-
2
Open a word-processing document on your computer and customize the dimensions. The document should measure 4 1/4 inches in width by 5 1/2 inches in height.
-
-
3
Center the text bar on the document and type in all of the necessary information for your wedding, such as the hosts' names, the date, the time and the location. Select a font that is easy to read yet formal-looking, and select a font color that will be easily legible on the color of card stock paper you chose.
-
4
Print a test sheet of the document onto one of the pieces of card stock. If all of the text is lined up properly, print the document onto each of the card stock invitations.
-
5
Use the hole punch to create two holes in the center of the top of each wedding invitation. The holes should be approximately 1/2 inch apart.
-
6
Cut a 5-inch strip of ribbon for each of your invitations. Loop the ribbon up from the back of the invitation with one end through each hole. Tie the ribbon into a secure bow on the front of the invitation.
