1
Carefully study the job description or advertisement for the job you want. Make a list of specific skills and requirements for the job in the advertisement, including experience and other such details.
-
2
Create a list of your own highlights and attributes that match the job description. This should include the years of experience you have in the coaching or teaching field, your experience with the sport in question, organizational skills and other potential advantages.
-
-
3
List your contact information at the top of your resume page. This should include your full name (no nicknames), address, best contact telephone number and best contact e-mail address. Bold your name to make it stand out from the rest of the information.

4
Summarize the highlights you listed in Step 2 in a resume profile. Present this information in a paragraph containing three to four sentences that briefly state the advantages a recruiter would receive in hiring you. The profile is essentially a shortened cover letter designed to catch a recruiter's attention.
-
5
List your relevant experience, including all coaching experience and time spent studying or playing the sport in question. State your most recent experience or current position, including your specific title, first. Aligned right on this same line, list the period during which you have held this position. For example, this area might read "2008 to Present. "
-
6
Summarize your responsibilities and skills from your first area of experience. Indent this information below your title, and state attributes of this position as bullet points. Include any awards or accomplishments you earned, as well as winning percentage and any other information you feel speaks to your success as a coach. Repeat the statement and listing for each relevant piece of employment history.
-
7
Finish your resume with your educational experience, especially experience that pertains to sports or coaching. This should include all post-secondary education, as well as any special training or certificates you have received.
