How to Make Lace Jewelry

Lace is an openwork fabric with a unique appeal. It's been the inspiration of many professional and amateur designers. Although it evokes a more traditional, vintage style, lace is often combined with modern elements. This combination is commonly seen in curtains, clothes and various pieces of jewelry. Making your own lace jewelry can be an interesting home project.

Instructions

    • 1

Find an old necklace chain. Lay it lengthwise and measure down three inches, breaking the chain at that spot using the pliers.

    • 2

Take the necklace ring and pry it open using your fingers. Then push the necklace ring through the necklace chain.

    • 3

Take a piece of decorative lace and slip it onto the necklace ring. Carefully close the ring with the pliers.

    • 4

Take the other piece of the broken necklace and measure down seven inches. Pull on both sides of the necklace piece and break it at that spot.

    • 5

Repeat Steps 2 and 3 on the other side of the lace and for this end of the necklace.

Tips & Warnings

  • An old necklace chain will add appeal to the vintage necklace.

  • Be careful not to catch your fingers using the pliers.
