Instructions

    • 1

      Unplug the power cord of the Kenmore 80 Series washing machine from the electrical outlet before attempting to repair the agitator. Lift the lid of the washing machine up to access the agitator.

      Remove the liquid fabric softener cap off the top of the agitator, prying it up with a screwdriver. Pry the agitator cap off the agitator with a screwdriver.

      Remove the barrier cap and seal from the inside of the agitator top, taking it out by hand. Unfasten the bolt in the top of the agitator, using a socket wrench.

      Take the top half of the agitator off, lifting it up by hand and setting it aside. Turn the top of the agitator over. Slide the four cams and clutch dogs out of the agitator top.

      Place the new cams and clutch dogs inside the base of the agitator top, the same way the old ones came out. Put the top of the agitator back onto the agitator base. Secure the bolt on the top with a socket wrench.

      Put the barrier cap and seal back into the top of the agitator. Press the agitator cap onto the top of the agitator by hand.

      Attach the liquid fabric softener dispenser onto the top of the agitator cap by hand. Plug the power cord of the Kenmore 80 Series washer into the electrical outlet.
