How to Customize Airbrush Jordan Shoes
Air Jordans first came on the scene in 1984, when Nike was an unknown shoe company. Trying to persuade the then-rookie Michael Jordan to participate in an endorsement, Nike flew him to their headquarters and convinced the reluctant Jordan to sign on with the deal. Despite Jordan's reluctance, they became an overnight sensation with the signature "Jumpman" (the shoes are sometimes referred to as "Jumpmans") and colorful design. As of 2010, the shoes have been re-released 23 times and can be customized online. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Log on to Nike.com and select your language, followed by your country.
-
2
Click NikeiD from the square on the bottom of the page that says "NikeiD, Customize Your Ride" or the square on the side bar labeled "NikeiD".
-
-
3
Choose either "Men's" or "Women's" from the menu at the top and then select Basketball. As customizable Air Jordans are unisex, select the appropriate one from the menu.
-
4
Click on "Air Jordans" from the shoes that will come up on the menu. They're on the top line, second box from the left.
-
5
Hover your mouse over different parts of the shoe. Once you click on each part, a menu will come up to allow you to change the show to one of the selected colors. You can customize the base (the general tone of the shoe, including the tongue), vamp (toe of the shoe), tip (area around the vamp), the Nike swoosh, the foxing (the trim on the shoe on the heel and ankle areas), collar (top of the shoe), logo and laces. Play with these tools until the shoe is to your satisfaction.
-
6
Look to the right side of your screen where there will be a box black and gray box with an orange meter on top indicating the design progress. Scroll down with the gray scroll bar and make sure you've customized everything you want to in terms of colors.
-
7
Scroll down to the bottom of the black, gray and orange box and click MedialiD. In this step, you can customize your shoe further by adding eight characters to the top of the shoe, near the ankle. You'll be able to choose the color so that the writing will match with your shoe's color scheme.
-
8
Click the "Size" button above the orange "Add to Cart" button, below the black, gray and orange box. Select your size. Note that these are men's sizes, so women will need to subtract one and a half from the men's size. For instance, a women's size nine is a men's 7.5. If you are smaller than a men's size 7, you're still able to customize kid's shoes using a similar process although you won't be able to customize Air Jordan's.
-
9
Make sure you are happy with your design. Click "Add to Cart" to purchase the shoes, "Share" to send to yourself or a friend in an e-mail or "Save" if you wish to purchase the shoes at a later date.
