How to Set Up Windows Live Messenger
To set up Windows Live Messenger, you will need a genuine copy of Windows that can pass the validation check. Before installing new software, it is always a good idea to update Windows so that the new software will be sure to function correctly. Windows Live Messenger is Microsoft's instant messaging software, and is part of the Windows Live family of applications. Data management is made easier with the Windows Live ID, which allows you to easily move data from one Windows Live application to another.

Navigate to the download page for Windows Live Messenger, which can be accessed via the URL in the "Resources" section. Click the "Download now" button in the middle of the page. Save the .exe file onto your computer and then open it.

Select which Windows Live applications you want to install by checking/unchecking the boxes. Click "Next." The installer will now begin to download and install the applications that were selected.

Set up a Windows Live account. Go to the Windows Live homepage via the link in the "Resources" section. Click the "Get it now" button in the middle of the page. Click the "Sign up" button, then complete the forms. You can now use your Windows Live account to sign in to Messenger.
