How to Put My Volume Control on the Taskbar

Having the volume control icon on the system tray located on the taskbar allows you to increase or decrease system volume anytime you want without going through the Control Panel. If for some reason you removed the volume icon from the system tray, you can re-enable it again quickly regardless of whether you are using a Windows 7, Vista or XP operating system.

Right-click the taskbar and click "Properties" to launch the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" dialog box.

    • 2

Click the "Notification Area" tab. Place a check on "Volume" under "System icons."
