As more and more of the world goes online, businesses, public figures, organizations, artists and bands are finding it necessary to have an online presence. Having their own website is one way to go, if they have the know-how or means to create their own. Social media outlets are another way. They are free and easy to use. Anyone can create their own Facebook page in a matter of minutes, and it doesn't take any special knowledge or technical skill. Facebook's membership grows daily, so it is the perfect place to showcase a business, band, organization or yourself.
Instructions

Create a Facebook Page
-
1
Go to the Facebook website. Click on the option to "Create a Page" in the lower right corner of the home page.
-
2
Select the appropriate radio button for the type of page you want to create: Local business; Brand, product, or organization; Artist, band, or public figure. Each selection will then show a drop-down menu where you can choose a more specific niche.
-
-
3
Create a community page for a cause or topic by giving the page a name. This will create an "unofficial" page for your group, but you can still attract and invite members.
-
4
Name your page. Choose something that contains keywords that people will use to search online for your business or organization.
-
5
Review the Facebook Terms, and if you agree to the terms, check the box that affirms that you are the legal representative of the group creating the page.
-
6
Click "Create Official Page" or "Create Community Page," depending on which better describes your objectives. Sign in to your Facebook account if you already have one. If not, enter your email and create a password for your page. Enter your date of birth and fill out the Security Check Captcha box, check the box stating you have read and agree to the "Terms of Service," and click "Sign Up Now!"
-
7
Upload an image for your page from your computer. Use a photo, company logo or other symbol to distinguish your page.
-
8
Proceed to Step 2 to enter information about your group. Select "Edit Page" to provide specifics such as websites, contacts, addresses and phone numbers. Give detailed information about the group or business to introduce yourself to prospective customers and members.
-
9
Complete the steps, providing as much information as you can. Create a fun status update for your page. Keep the atmosphere light and less formal to attract more fans and members.
-
10
Invite people to your page. Click "Suggest to Friends" and begin selecting your Facebook friends that you would like to invite to your page. Ask friends to join if you don't have a Facebook account, and ask that they invite their friends to your page. Your membership will begin to grow as people see their friends like your page or have joined your group.
