How to Grow Dwarf Morning Glory (Convolvulus Tricolor)
Unlike their taller, lankier cousins, most dwarf morning glories grow just 1-2 feet high. These annuals (meaning they grow just one year) have the same pretty, trumpet-like flowers in blues, purples, pink and white with distinctive markings.

Choose a type of dwarf morning glory carefully. Most offered in reputable seed catalogs are fine, but Convulvulus arvensis spreads invasively and becomes a pest.

Soak seeds in warm water 24 hours before planting.

Plant from seed directly in the soil after your region's last frost date. Plant about 1/8-inch deep.

Start seedlings indoors, if desired for earlier bloom, five to six weeks before the last frost date. Transplant outdoors after the last frost date.

Fertilize lightly, if desired, two or three times during the growing season. Dwarf morning glory isn't a heavy feeder.

Keep reasonably well watered. However, this warm-season annual likes hot weather and suffers only in very dry conditions.

Pull up and discard plants in autumn, once frost has felled the plants.

Tips & Warnings
The two-foot morning glories are cute when planted in a large pot with a small trellis.
These full-sun-loving annuals are great for hanging baskets or window boxes as well as flower beds, especially along the edges where they can sprawl a little.
Don't skip the seed-soaking step. Otherwise, your morning glories could take several weeks to germinate rather than a few days.
