How to Disassemble a Typewriter Ribbon Cartridgethumbnail
Many people still love to use a typewriter.

Although the majority of people use a computer to type letters, papers and other documents, there are still some people who prefer to use a typewriter. Inside the typewriter is a ribbon cartridge. When a letter or number key is hit, a lever will hit the ribbon, stamping the letter onto a piece of paper. If you find that you're running out of ink, then it's time to get a new ribbon cartridge. Fortunately, removing the cartridge is very easy.
