How to Program a Computer Chip
The only programmable chip on your computer system is the EPROM (erasable programmable read-only memory) that contains the BIOS settings for your computer. Reprogramming the information on this chip is necessary when updating the BIOS, bringing your computer up to speed with the latest bug fixes and service revisions to the lowest level of operating system on the machine.
