How to Find a Refurbished Computer on Sale
New computers are often very expensive. But instead of purchasing a brand new computer, you can save money by purchasing a refurbished, used computer. Refurbished computers are available at many different locations, so it's likely there is at least one location near you.

1
Visit your local electronics store. Many of these stores sell opened computer items for a discounted price. These used computers may have only been opened for a few minutes before the individual returned the product. Because the product is no longer "brand new," you are able to purchase it for the lower price tag.

2
Stop by a used computer store. These stores purchase used computers, fix up anything that is not working, then sell the products for less than a standard, new computer. These stores will most likely give you more options than the electronics store, however, if you find something you like, you need to purchase it on the spot, as once the product is gone, it's unlikely there will be another one available.

Log online to your favorite computer store website (such as Apple, HP, Dell or Gateway). On the store site there is a "Refurbished" option. This sells factory refurbished computers for lower prices than what the newer systems cost you. This is especially helpful if you want a higher end computer from the website but can't afford the steep price of a new system.

4
Visit a website such as eBay or Overstock. These sites often have refurbished computer hardware available for sale. Of course, the selection is going to change by the day, so there is never any telling what is going to be found on these websites when you log on.
