1. Click the link to one of the free recovery utilities listed in the Resources section, then select "Download." After the download completes, click "Save" and save the files to the computer's desktop.

2. Double-click the downloaded file. Select "Run," "Install," and follow the onscreen instructions to install the software.

3. Open "Start," then "Programs," and open the downloaded and installed recovery utility.

4. Select the drive where the corrupt or deleted file was stored.

5. Select the file or folder to be recovered from the onscreen list and click "Recover" or "Restore," depending on the recovery utility.
