You can record for longer than 60 seconds in Windows Sound Recorder.

Sound Recorder is the default sound recording program that's preloaded with Windows operating systems. This program can record sound from an input source, such as a microphone or a stereo plugged into the computer's "Line In" port. The problem with Sound Recorder is it appears to only allow users to record for a maximum time of 60 seconds. But it is possible to record longer than 60 seconds in Sound Recorder.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Sound Recorder. Press the "Record" button. Allow the program to record for 40 to 50 seconds and then click the "Stop" button.

    • 2

Press the "Record" button to again add an additional 50 or 60 seconds to the maximum length of the recording.

    • 3

Position the cursor near the end of the maximum length again and click the "Record" again to add more time. Do this until the desired maximum length is obtained.
