As your wedding reception comes to a close, leave guests with a sweet treat. Unlike forgotten party favors that collect dust after the event, edible favors provide instant enjoyment. With the help of your favorite bakers, create a tasty and memorable parting gift.

  • Personalized labels or seals

  • Bread loaf
  • Tins, jars or baskets for display

      Ask friends and relatives to bake a batch of two dozen cookies each. For a reception hosting 150-200 guests, recruit seven to eight bakers. Add more or scale back as necessary.

      Instruct bakers to drop off treats one day prior to the wedding. House in gallon-size plastic storage bags. To retain moisture, put a slice of bread in each bag.

      Prepare treat packaging. Include one sticker label in each cellophane bag so that guests can fold the edges and enclose their cookies. As an alternative, cut six-inch ribbons to tie bags shut.

      Create small signs designating the baker of each treat. Design and print on the computer or write out on cardstock paper for a homemade touch. Place signs in frames or affix to display containers.

      Prior to the end of the reception, arrange cookies in display containers. Glass jars, baskets and small tins can hold each batch of cookies. Be sure to place signs in front of corresponding treats. Place bags on table and instruct guests to choose a few cookies to take home.
