Add a calendar to your business card using Photoshop.

When you want to impress upon potential new clients that time is of the essence for a business deal, there’s nothing like a calendar to motivate them to make a move. Combine a mini-calendar with a way for these now-pressed customers to get in touch with you by adding the record of days to your business card. You can perform this quick trick in Photoshop, a graphic design program available as part of the Adobe Creative Suite. With a couple of quick clicks, your card will be open for business any day of the month.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Open Photoshop, pull down the “File” menu and select “Open.” Browse to the location where you have your business card image stored as an electronic file; double-click the file, which opens the image in the Photoshop workspace.

    • 2

Repeat this process to navigate to where you have an image of a digital calendar, such as the month of March 2011 or an annual calendar. (Note that if you use an annual calendar, due to the business card’s small dimensions, it may be very hard to read.) Both the business card and calendar should be open in the Photoshop workspace.

    • 3

Click once on the business card box to give it focus. Pull down the “View” menu and select “Fit on Screen.” This won’t actually enlarge your card dimensions, it just makes it easier to work with.

    • 4

Click the calendar box to give it focus. Press and hold down the “Ctrl” key, then drag the calendar image onto the business card, which adds it as a new layer in the “Layers” palette on the right side of the screen.

    • 5

Pull down the “Edit” menu and click “Transform.” Because the calendar probably opened too large for the business card, click the “Scale” option, grab a corner of the calendar and shrink it down to size in place on the business card. Drag it into place as preferred.

    • 6

Click the right-pointing triangle in a circle icon at the top of the “Layers” palette and select “Flatten Image.” Pull down the “File” menu, click “Save As” and rename the file; don’t save it on top of your original in case you want to access the business card without the calendar again.
