Instructions

    • 1

Draw a face onto the rounded part of the clothespin with a permanent marker. Include two eyes, a nose and a mouth. You can make the face simple, or you can use a fine point marker to add creative details.

    • 2

Cut yarn into 1 to 2 inch pieces. You will need enough yarn to make ample hair to cover the top of the angel’s head. Use natural hair colors like yellow, brown, black and red to make it look realistic. Glue the yarn on with white glue.

    • 3

Measure the distance from the bottom of the angel’s head to the end of the clothespin. Cut out a square piece of white fabric to fit these dimensions. Wrap the square around the angel’s body and glue the fabric together with fabric glue to make the angel’s dress.

    • 4

Cut the angel’s wings out from a white piece of craft foam. Draw the wings on the craft foam first before you cut them out.

    • 5

Hot glue the angel wings to the back of the clothespin on the dress. Line the wings up so that they appear even.

    • 6

Cut a white pipe cleaner into small 1/2 to 2 inch pieces. Glue one of these pieces to each side of the angel’s body to make arms. Fold the end of the arms into a hook to create hands. Hook them together in the front to make the angel pray.

    • 7

Cut a 3-inch section from a silver or gold pipe cleaner. Fold the end of this pipe cleaner into a circle. Attach the other end of the pipe cleaner to the back of the angel with a hot glue gun so that the halo sits above the angel’s head.

    • 8

Tie a piece of ribbon to the angel’s halo. Hang the angel ornament on your Christmas tree.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have trouble making the shape of the angel wings, draw the top half of a heart and then turn the heart sideways on the back of the angel to form wings.
