Although the manufacturer directs users to apply the ointment to the chest to relieve cold symptoms, some people believe that a generous application to the feet will relieve coughs faster, cure toe and nail fungus and stop snoring.       Wash and dry your feet to remove dirt and anything else that may act as a barrier to the ointment.

      Apply a generous amount of the rub onto the soles of your feet before bed. Put a pair of socks on to prevent the ointment from staining your bed sheets. Do this carefully to avoid rubbing the ointment off your feet.

      Go to bed. You may find that the ointment helps relieve your cough within a few minutes. Take the socks off the next morning and wash the ointment off your feet.
