Homemade Plyo Boxes
Plyometrics are a great way to train the body for explosiveness. Plyo boxes can be used for box jumps, depth jumps, push-ups and various other plyometric exercises. You can even incorporate light plyometrics into your cardiovascular training program. As of 2010, plyometric boxes cost $100 or more, but you can easily make one for yourself.

Stand two pieces of plywood on their sides. These pieces should form an "L." Screw the sides into each other.

Repeat step one for the remaining sides. Screw the two "L"-shaped pieces together to form a square.

Place the fifth piece of plywood on top of the the square you have created. Screw the top into place.

Plyometrics, as with all physical activity, carry the risk of injury.
