How to Buy a PSP Cheap Online
As of July 2010, a brand-new PSPgo has a suggested retail price of $249.99. While most stores will carry the unit for less, brick-and-mortar retailers cannot hope to match the cheaper prices you can find online. Online retailers don't have the overhead of running a physical location, so they can afford to selling things at more competitive prices. You can also find Sony PSPs cheap used in a lot of places online, if you're willing to go that route.

1
Use eBay (see References). All of the various releases of the PSP (the 1000, 2000, 3000 and "Go" models) are available in both new and used conditions on Internet auction house eBay. Note, however, that purchasing through eBay means that you'll be buying from third-party individuals and not an actual retailer. Always read seller ratings and look at previous actions from the same person before buying.

2
Use Amazon.com's Marketplace (see References). Amazon.com's Marketplace is a similar concept to eBay in that you'll be buying a cheap PSP from third parties, but you don't bid on the price. The third-party individual sets the price, and you either buy it or you don't. To find Marketplace listings for the PSP, go to the Amazon product page for the model you're looking to buy and look at the "New" and "Used" prices located directly beneath Amazon's price for the unit.

Keep an eye on major Internet retailers for sales. Sites like "The Cheapskate" (see References) and "The Consumerist" (see References) typically post on a daily basis about deals on new and used electronics. If a brand-new Sony PSP goes on sale at any major Internet retailer, sites like these will immediately post about it. You can also watch for sales yourself just by visiting the product page for the PSP on retail sites once a week or so until the unit goes on sale.
