How to Write a Wedding Speech for the Best Man
One of the duties of a best man is to give a speech during the wedding reception. Although the speech is for the bride and groom, it should be engaging and interesting to the other wedding guests present. Giving a speech to a room full of strangers may seem overwhelming, but once a best man knows what elements to incorporate, it is easy to write a best man speech.

1
Start by informing the guests of how you know the groom. Write down when and where you met or how long you've known each other. Think about the time the groom and bride met and how that changed your friend. Think about your own relationship with the bride and write down the details. These are details that can be incorporated into the speech.

2
Write down a funny story about your history with the groom. Do not include any story that might be offensive or that is an inside joke between you and the groom. If the audience doesn't understand the joke, they will lose interest in what you have to say.

3
Give the groom and/or bride a piece of advice that pertains to their marriage and future.
-
4
End with a toast. Saying something like "I ask everyone to raise their glasses to the bride and groom" not only signals the wedding guests to drink, but it ends your speech.
