In Guild Wars, use gold dye to color your armor and weapons.

The massive multiplayer online role-playing game, or MMORPG for short, Guild Wars gives players the opportunity to become a hero. In the world of Guild Wars, conflict abounds as heroes rescue refugees and take on quests to fulfill prophecies. You can customize your avatar in any number of ways, including adapting your clothes, armor and weapons using dyes. Hostile enemies, when destroyed, will sometimes drop these dyes. You will find red, blue, green, orange, yellow and purple most often, but occasionally an enemy will drop silver dye, which, when mixed with other dyes, gives a metallic look to the color. Gold dye is strictly a custom color, meaning you can only mix it from other dyes.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can buy dyes from other players if you don’t want to wait until an enemy drops the color you need. Shop around for the best price, and beware of scammers who overcharge.

  • You can create similarly gold-looking colors using fewer, or none, of the rare silver dyes, although it won’t give you a pure gold color. Mixing green and orange will produce a muted gold color. Another combination is to mix silver with yellow and then mix with orange to give you an almost pure gold color.
