How to Play the LCR Dice Game
Whenever the weather is crummy or when you simply want to sit around with family and friends and catch up, a simple dice game helps pass the time and facilitate conversation. LCR, a game that made its first appearance back in 1983, is a simple dice game. The letters stand for “Left," “Center" and “Right.” In the game, players roll three dice, specifically made for LCR, and pass chips based on the results. It is suitable for games up to 12 players and can be played by children and adults alike.

1
Pass out three chips or three coins to each player. Set aside the remaining chips or place them in the center of the table (called the “pot”).
-
2
Determine which player goes first. Flip coins, draw straws or use some other arbitrary method to pick the first player.

3
Roll the LCR dice. “L” means players pass chips to the player on their left; “R” means players pass chips to the player on their right. “C” indicates chips go into the pot. Dots are neutral; chips are not passed. For example: Player 1 rolls the dice; two dice read “L” and one shows a dot. Player 1 passes two chips to his or her left.

4
Pass the dice to the left. Play continues until only one player is left holding chips. Players may only roll as many dice as they have chips; if a player has only one chip, he or she may only roll 1 die. Players without chips still are in the game but roll no dice unless they receive a chip from the player on their right or left.
