Mozilla is an online company that is most widely known for its Firefox web browser and Thunderbird email client. In contrast to other browsers such as Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, Firefox has numerous customization options. In addition, Firefox has increased security and privacy settings as well. This makes it possible to block specific sites and undesirable content by following a few steps.

Instructions

      Download a website blocking add-on. Go to the Mozilla homepage (See References) and click the "Add-ons" tab. Type "BlockSite" into the search bar and press "Enter." Click the "Continue to Download" button beside the BlockSite icon.

      Click "Add to Firefox" and select the "Install Now" button. Click "Restart Firefox" to complete installation. Bookmark or save any content before closing out of the browser.

      Go to "Tools" and select "Add-ons." Choose "BlockSite" from the selection of add-ons and click "Options."

      Click "Add" from the left-side menu. Enter the website URL and click "OK" to add it to the blacklist.

Tips & Warnings

  • Click "Contribute" if you would like to make a donation before downloading BlockSite.

  • Highlight the website URL and click "Remove" to delete it from the blacklist.
