How to Put Up a Queen-Size Bed Frame
A comfortable bed is one of the most important things you need for better sleep, according to the Mayo Clinic. A sturdy queen-size bed frame supports a wide queen-size mattress and helps make your bed more comfortable. A queen-size bed is a two-person bed that measures 80 inches long by 60 inches wide, so it needs adequate support. Get a frame with a support bar that goes across the middle of the bed. Without this element, the bed is wide enough that it may sag in the middle. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Ensure you leave enough space for furniture and walking. Measure the space where you intend to place the bed. This ensures that you have enough room for the bed as well as room to move around the bed and arrange your furniture. Lean the mattress and box spring against a wall so you have room to set up the bed frame. If you are attaching a headboard, lean it against the wall where it will be placed.

An attractive headboard helps anchor the bed in the room's decor. Lay the bed frame side rails out where you generally expect to set them up. Attach the legs to each side rail. They may just pop in and be held by the bed weight or may have a clamp or screw attachment. If the frame includes a plate with screw holes at one end, that is to attach the headboard, so position that end at the top. Hammer the legs into the bed frame if necessary.

Extend the cross rails. Usually they are attached to the side rails and just swing out. With an adjustable bed frame, put the sliding clamps onto one cross rail, put the rails together and clamp lightly. Do the same for the other set of cross rails. Now use a measuring tape to get the right width for the mattress on both top and bottom, and tighten the clamps to hold that width. Add 1/2 inch on each side to make sure the queen-size box spring fits correctly on the bed frame.
-
4
Match the screw holes in the bed frame to the holes in the headboard at this time (if you have a headboard) before you tighten the clamps completely. Attach the headboard, and move the bed frame to the spot you want it in the room.
-
5
Enjoy restful sleep on your new queen-size bed frame. Attach the legs to the center support bar, and fit the bar to the bed frame. Make sure the center legs are set at the same height as the side rail legs. Test the mattress fit by putting the box spring on the frame. It should fit inside the frame and not be hanging over. If necessary, take the box spring off, and adjust the clamps slightly until you have the right fit.

Tips & Warnings
On a carpeted floor you can use wheeled feet, but on a hard surface you should use soft-surfaced plastic feet, which are called gliders.
Make sure you have all the feet and clamps as specified in the packing list before you begin the bed frame assembly.
According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, restless sleep increases food intake the following day.
