Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the microwave from the electrical outlet in your kitchen.

    • 2

Run your fingers up and down the power cord to feel for frays or breaks in the cord. A fray or break in the cord can prevent power from getting to the unit.

    • 3

Check the fuse on the back of the microwave to see if it has burned out. Replace the fuse if needed.

    • 4

Clean any dust off of the fan motor on the back of the microwave. Use a damp paper towel to wipe the dust off of the fan blades and casing.

    • 5

Close the door of the microwave to determine if it is shutting fully. Sometimes the latches on a microwave door can bend and prevent the door from shutting properly. Replace the latch if needed.

    • 6

Check the capacitor on the back of the microwave. Replace the capacitor on the microwave if the fuse keeps burning out.

Tips & Warnings

  • Replacement fuses and capacitors can be found at local hardware stores.

  • If you find a fray or break in the power cord, replace the cord immediately to avoid electrical fires.
